Police guilty over New Orleans death

A US federal jury has convicted three police officers and cleared two over the killing of a man after Hurricane Katrina flooded New Orleans in 2005.

The jury convicted former officer David Warren of manslaughter in the shooting of 31-year-old Henry Glover.

Family and friends of Mr Glover embraced following the jury's decision

Officer Gregory McRae was convicted of burning Mr Glover's body, while Lt Travis McCabe was convicted of writing a false report on the shooting.

Jim Morrison pardoned by Florida governor

Rock legend Jim Morrison has been pardoned by Florida's governor for an indecent exposure conviction dating back more than 40 years.

The late singer of the Doors was convicted of exposing himself to a Miami concert audience in 1969.

A copy of the world's most expensive printed book has sold at auction in London for £6.5m ($10.3m), but why is John James Audubon's Birds of America such a collectors' item?

If you ever see a copy of Audubon's Birds of America lying round a junk shop, you should consider buying it. It should stand out. The largest version of the book was in what printers call double elephant folio - an enormous 39.5 by 26.5 inches (100cm by 67cm), to allow lifesize illustration of birds.
